Something that never ceases to amaze me is the amount of gatekeeping that occurs in the trans community. Isn’t it enough that doctors and insurance companies are all up in our grills making arbitrary decisions about who gets to claim ‘trans’?? Why do we have to do it ourselves? I present differently than my AMAB status might generally prescribe, but that’s not why I’m trans….. I’m trans because I say I am. Nobody gets to question that.
