I agree that there is at least some intent of emasculation there. My statement about wearing women wearing men’s suits was directed at fashion, not comedy. But here’s what I find interesting:

When a female comedian impersonates a man, it can serve to emasculate the SUBJECT of the humor. When a male comedian impersonates a woman, it emasculates the PERFORMER.
